2-page layout - Print How?

Postby primecath on Sat Feb 07, 2009 7:46 am

I am designing a two facing page layout and want to design as one large layout then split in half and print each page separately.

The only way I can see how to do this is
    1) duplicate file
    2) crop for left side on original file
    3) crop for right side on duplicate file
By all accounts I think this should work and may be the easiest and most direct route to take in getting print pages. However, I thought some of you may have already created double pages and possibly there is a print workaround that I have not thought of.

Much appreciative of any comments.

Catherine,
I've never done a two page spread. I would, however, suggest a slight change. Instead of Crop, use Select, i.e.:

1) Select the left side, using the rectangular selection tool;
2) Copy, then Edit/Paste as New Image
3) Back on the original, invert the selection (resulting in the right side)
4) Copy, then Edit/Paste as New Image

This will ensure that you don't lose any pixels in the middle, or overlap. Also, it leaves the original image untouched.
