Unfortunately due to difficult trading conditions in the magazine market, Paint Shop Pro magazine has ceased publication with immediate effect. Issue 8 was completed and went to the printers on time, and will be the last issue out of the door. The website will remain online.

Thank you everyone for your support, I will continue to approve your images regularly, though I won't be able to dedicate as much time to other matters relating to the site.

best wishes,

Duncan

Thanks Jerry,

Obviously I'm very disappointed as I've put quite a bit of effort into all areas of the magazine - I think issue 8 was the best yet. As far as all subscribers go, you will be sent a letter shortly, offering a continuation of the subscription, but with Corel Painter, or to cancel it.

cheers,

Duncan

Hey Bob,

My thanks to you and your great creations. The dinosaur piece in issue 7 is awesome and the cafe scene for issue 8 help the whole feature look good. If you decide to get into Corel Painter give me a shout as that's where I'm heading next.

cheers,

Duncan

I am hoping for the sake of our subscriber that reading between the lines you might be saying that if trading conditions improve that the magazine might someday be republished.
Make it a great day!!

Well it's certainly a possibility that there might be PSPP specific products from Imagine, but I really don't want to mislead anyone by hinting that the magazine will make a come back so you should continue the subscription.

This is very sad new, but I am now glad that I switched my subscription to Advanced Photoshop two or three issues back. I really liked PSP and only changed to Photoshop to be more marketable, but I still followed the postings here. The Imagine Advanced Photoshop forum is so quiet it is hardly worth visiting. The magazine is alright but it is aimed at a crowd of people that I am certainly not part of. I am more into corporate design and illustration, not flighty psychedelics. After my subscription runs out I am pretty sure I won't renew.

I have enjoyed the magazine very much, it's made great reading, which is what I subscribed for.
I don't want to blame the magazine, they've tried very hard.

Can we expect a rebate for the outstanding issues?

Haven't we been there and done that once before with a previous Paint Shop Pro publication? I don't recall who the publishers were though.

As things are going I can see the demise of Paint Shop Pro approaching and that would really be sad.
There are so many free image editors on the market now, that this is a distinct possibility unless there is a real humdinger of a new version.

I hope I am wrong.

All subscribers will automatically be given a Painter subscription instead. If you don't want it you can cancel and get a rebate for the remaining issues. For the record, we just finished issue 8 so all issues up to and including that one will be sent out.

Thanks for responding Ed.
I have no interest in Painter at the moment.
My main interest is in image editing and vector drawing, so it looks like I will have to cancel a subscription I didn't ask for, hmm.

I am sure you will announce the how-to when the last PSPP magazine is sent out.
